As an investment banker, Meridith Dennes offers expert guidance on making financial investments, and in her newest professional role as co-founder and CEO of Project Eve, LLC, she’s providing women guidance on another type of investment – themselves.
Ms. Dennes has been director and head banking, investment banking, and funds practice at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation since 2004. From her own experiences balancing a professional career with starting a new family, Ms. Dennes realized how important it is for women to develop and nurture relationships and resources that help them build successful and innovative ventures.
In 2011, she launched Project Eve as a social network to promote female entrepreneurship and to help women redefine their position in the workplace. By signing up on the site (www.projecteve.com), women can view job ads, learn about classes and events for women entrepreneurs, and team up with other women working to overcome the personal and professional roadblocks that keep them from achieving their fullest potential.
One of the issues the Project Eve addresses is the challenge women face “juggling” the different responsibilities in their life. This is a topic close to Ms. Dennes’ heart as she endeavors to find the perfect balance between her career as an investment banker and her commitment to seeing Project Eve grow and thrive.
